IRS agents are human as well!

We are so used to getting machinised responses to our queries with the IRS. We might have even wondered whether there was anything human about the IRS. But, a recent letter from the IRS revoking the penalty imposed on a couple with a baby goes to show their humane considerations as well.

Erica Firment and her husband had committed a few errors while seeking extension status. On being penalised for the same, they sent in an apology letter to the IRS mentioning that tending to a  child made adult brains go dull for a few months, and they would agree if they had children of their own.
Surprise, surprise - they received a letter from the IRS removing all penalty charges imposed on them!
The IRS toll-free hotlines elicit courteous responses from knowledgeable executives.
